To leave the nest is a big step, whoever you are, it goes hand in hand with growing up. I left my nest 2 years ago and this summer I was still standing right outside the door, scratching my neck, wondering which way I should go. Two years of too many choices, no guidance and all of hell breaking loose if I did something wrong. This summer I started walking; now I’m more lost than ever, and it feels good. Never have I been more in love with myself.
You can count the people who know me on one hand. There is no question about whether I make myself hard for people to understand or not. The people who have taken their time to try and succeed have been around for many years, and then there are two people who I have met recently who manage to take my breath away just by looking in to my eyes. The fact that they make me feel like I’m somewhere I belong is intimidating and refreshing like nothing I have ever experienced. These past weeks have been like a big breath of faith, a little proof of how beautiful the world can be.
To the people I hold dear,
Don’t regret anything you have done in your lives, because what you have done and where in life you have been is what made you the person you are today; and that is nothing less than admirable.
